Giulietta&Romeo Half Marathon

Runner, hereby you find everything about the race so you can enjoy yourself in a very simple way.

HOW TO GET BIB

Bibs will be available at Palazzetto dello Sport, Verona:

•on Saturday, February 18th 2012, from 10:00 a.m. up to 20:00 p.m.

•on Sunday, February 19th 2012, from 7.00 a.m. up to 9.00 a.m.

On Saturday you can park in the parking area of Palazzetto dello Sport.

On Sunday car parks will be reserved outside Palazzetto dello Sport and they will be marked by letters A, B, C.

HOW TO COME

BY CAR:

Follow indications to the City centre –Stadium by driving on the median ring-road

Exit Stadium: here use car parks A,B and C.

Car parks are free and a private security service will be arranged over it.

Should any damages or theft occur, the managing Committee won’t be responsible at all.

BY BUS:

Take VERONA NORD exit driving on A22 Brennero/Modena motorway.

Follow indications to the City centre –Stadium by driving on the median ring-road

Exit Stadium: here there’s a visible Bus park.

BY TRAIN:

Arrival to the Verona Porta Nuova railway station, 1,5 km far from Palazzetto dello Sport where is located the Starting Grid, and here follow the Stadium direction.

BY CAMPER VAN:

At 800 mt far from the Starting Grid there’s an equipped camper van park in “G.Dalla Bona’ Street” in Porta Palio (close to the city centre).

You can also park your camper van in the camper van parks number 1, 2 or 3 at Palazzetto dello Sport, but no security service will be granted there.

SHUTTLE SERVICE:

On Sunday, from 8.00 a.m. up to 5.00 p.m., a shuttle service will be running to pick you and also people coming with you up, which will connect the Arrival point to Verona Porta Nuova railway station and the Starting grid. This shuttle service will take runners from their hotel in the city centre (in case they might have booked it) to the Starting Grid.

The shuttle leaving point will be clearly marked by a board and you can catch it at the following lines:

•City centre: Corso Porta Nuova

•at Verona Porta Nuova railway station: side-walk A

•at Palazzetto dello Sport: side-walk C

The shuttle service will be running from 8.00 a.m. up to 5.00 p.m.. You can catch it every 15 minutes. This shuttle service will allow visitors (companions) to see the Start of the race and it will take them to the Arrival point within 10 minutes.

BIB COLLECTION:

You can collect bib by Palazzetto dello Sport in the following days:

•on Saturday, February 18th from 10.00 a.m. up to 8.00 p.m.

•on Sunday, February 19th from 7.00 a.m. up to 9.00 a.m.

How to get bib:

You must go to the assigned desk for collecting bib. There you must show the confirmation letter which displays the regularity of the registration. You are expected to receive this letter by mail.

You can also find it on our web site www.giuliettaeromeohalfmarathon.it at “verify your registration here” section. Keep attention: should your confirmation letter show this word: “NOT REGULAR REGISTRATION”, you must regularize it at the Secretary’s office before collecting bib.

In case of missing the confirmation letter, you must check the number of your bib on the registered board you’ll find at the entry of Palazzetto dello Sport; then you must go to the Secretary’s office to get this confirmation letter with you and then you’ll be allowed to collect your bib.

No regularization of registration will be accepted on Sunday, February 19th .

You could send other compulsory/missing documents by fax and/or mail not later than Friday,17th or you can bring them to the Secretary’s office on Saturday, February 18th only.

On Sunday, February 19th all runners must show a regularized registration otherwise in case they won’t do it, they couldn’t collect the bib.

STARTING-GRID:

Close to the desk of collection bib you’ll find trucks where you can deposit the bag that the Managing Committee will give you to carry your clothes up to the Arrival point. Please, remember to APPLY IN A VERY CLEAR WAY the number you’ll find inside the technical bag.

Any other kind of bag WON’T BE ALLOWED except from the ONE GIVEN YOU BY THE

MANAGING COMMITTEE.

The truck will leave Palazzetto dello Sport to go to the Arrival point NOT LATER THAN 9.30 a.m.

START at 10.00 a.m - GRID ENTRY:

Four grids have been arranged on the base of declared arrival time-prediction.

•YELLOW GRID

•GREEN GRID

•BLUE GRID

•RED GRID

The entry is allowed according to the BIB color and it’s not referred to the bib number.

You can entry grid only starting from 9.15 a.m.

All runners of AGSM DUO Half Marathon must leave from the RED GRID.

All runners who will run with their Carnival mask must leave from the YELLOW GRID, it doesn’t matter of the color of the bib.

Please, follow the right directions to enter the Starting Grid which are clearly marked at 200 mt from bags deposit.

BIB:

The bib is strictly non-transferable and any exchange of it IS FORBIDDEN. It must be placed on the front side of your race shirt and must be clearly visible. Whether the number and all sponsors brands on the bib MUST be taken clearly IN EVIDENCE and they mustn’t be hidden otherwise runner is DISQUALIFIED.

TIME-KEEPING:

The electronic time-keeping is supplied by WINNING TIME.

The chip is placed on the backside of the bib and MUSTN’T be left otherwise runner is DISQUALIFIED.

RACE COURSE:

The race course is well displayed by indicated directions and kilometers boards.

The kilometer stationing will be placed at km. 5th , km. 10th , km. 14th , km.18th and last km. 21,097th to keep measurements.

The Managing Committee will take any other additional checks to grant the regularity of the race.

DRINKING STATION:

The drinking stations of 5th Edition of Giulietta&Romeo Half Marathon 2012 will be placed as it follows:

•at km. 5th - tables on the right and on the left of the course

•at km.10th - tables on the right and on the left of the course

•at km.14th - tables on the right of the course

•at km.18th - tables on the right of the course

WC services will be available at any drinking points.

SPONGING:

In respect of the environment, you’ll find a sponge inside the bib bag.

You must take care of it during your race: at k. 7,5th km. 12,5th and km. 17,5th you’ll find water tank to dip your sponge in. At Arrival point you’ll find big baskets where you could dump your sponge.

PLEASE, HELP US TO RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT

ARRIVAL POINT:

At the arrival point you’ll be welcomed by the group of the volunteers of the “Marco Polo” School of Verona who will give you a medal and a thermal cape.

Once you come to the Arrival point, you’re asked, please, to leave it in short time in order to keep the area free.

Once you don’t use the cape any more, please, dump it inside the big baskets. DON’T LEAVE IT AROUND as it occurred during the last edition of 2011.

Close to the Arrival point lots of photographers will take a photo of you.

Out of the delimited area of the course at the Arrival point, you’ll find a big drinking and food station and also the trucks with your clothes inside.

If you like to have a shower, close to the Starting Grid of Palazzetto dello Sport, there are 48 shower-bath so that you can go there by the shuttle service starting from the 11.30 a.m. up to 5.00 p.m. The shuttle stops every 15 minutes.

RACE-KIT COLLECTION AND CHIP DELIVERY

In front of the Arrival point at the “Palazzo della Gran Guardia” there’s a “dressing room”.

Then, you must go to the “Buvette Room” where you’ll give the chip back and you’ll collect the race-kit.

PACER:

The pacer is a sort of a “race angel” for you. For this 5th edition of Giulietta&Romeo Half Marathon 2012 the Committee will make the pacemaker service at disposal of all of you to let you get your own record with a “dedicated running guide”. Hereby the times of arrival which will be granted:

1.20minutes; 1.25; 1.30;1.335;1.40;1.45;1.50;1.55;2.00;2.15;2.30

“MOVED BACK SERVICE”

A “moved back runners service” will be available for all runners who will decide to move back the race and it will be placed at the following kilometers:

km. 7th; km.10th ; km.12th ; km.14th ; km. 16,5th .

A dedicated staff service will be working during the race to grant the 3 hours time of total traffic stopping.

SANITARY SERVICE

All along the course and at drinking points first-aid stations of “Croce Verde” will be arranged to lend aid in case of need. Furthermore, faster first-aid stations will follow the runners all along the course by bycicle.

SHOWER-BATH POINTS:

At Palazzetto dello Sport there are 48 hot shower-baths for women and for men. At the end of the race all runners can go to the Palazzetto dello Sport to have a shower. They can use the shuttle service starting from the 11.30 a.m. up to 5.00 p.m. (it will take about 10minutes).

MASSAGES POINTS:

At the “Palazzo della Gran Guardia” in Piazza Bra (in front of the Arrival point), a part from a dressing room that you’ll find in the big area of Loggiato (follow the direction), the “Buvette Room” will host also a free massages service arranged by Monbocar Group.

RESULTS:

The Results will be exposed first inside the dressing room at “Palazzo della Gran Guardia” – in Piazza Bra (in front of the Arrival point) and then they will be put on the web site and they could be downloaded: www.giuliettaeromeohalfmarathon.it).

All classed runners could download the Certificate of Participation on the website: www.giuliettaeromeohalfamarathon.it.

PHOTO SERVICE:

“Studio Foto CASTAGNOLI (phone +39 547 680068; e-mail: foto castagnoli@libero.itThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. )” has been charged to take photos of the runners all along the race and then to send them home to everyone.
